Madhugiri Trek

Madhugiri Trek which is at a height of about 3950 ft, is the second-largest monolith rock. It is one of the most adventurous treks. Madhugiri Trek is 110 km away from Bangalore, and it hardly takes about half a day to complete the trek. But there are a few patches that are narrow and tricky, yet the trek is an easy one. The majority of the trek is rocky. If you are a beginner, then the steep climb and rocky hills will make the trek a challenging one.

  • It is 100 km from Bangalore towards Tumkur.
  • Difficulty Level- Moderate. But there are some stretches that can be challenging if you are a beginner.

  • Best time to Visit- If you go from September till February. This is a good season to trek.
  • Things to Carry- Remain hydrated as much as you can. Carry water, snacks or breakfast, and emergency medicines. You must also wear shoes that have got a good grip and a cap.

2. Nandi Hills

Nandi Hills, the most famous one, is situated at an altitude of 1478 m. It is among the best trekking places near Bangalore. You have to climb up to 1,200 steps to reach the summer palace of Tipu Sultan located on the top. The location is mesmerizing and offers views that are captivating and alluring of the surrounding hills and Amrita Sarovar.

Anthargange has been one of the most frequently visited trekking places around Bangalore. This is because of the volcanic rocks, caves, boulders, and small hillocks. A combination of trekking and cave exploration makes this trip an adventurous one. The journey is about 3 km long that takes you through tough, tricky trails and some of the most gorgeous vistas. If you love solo trekking then this one is the best for you. The trek is easy and very scenic which makes it a memorable one.

4. Makalidurga Trek

Are you someone who enjoys rocky lands, greenery, and some enchanting views, then you must definitely try Makali Durga Trek. You can plan for a perfect weekend getaway if you are a nature lover. This trek will surely make you happy. But before heading on this trek you need permission from the forest department. As the trek is under the supervision of Karnataka Eco-Tourism. Anyone can book the slot online as well. You will need about 5 hours in order to finish the trek. The main captivating view of the trek is the lake which is like the shape of the map of South America. 

Distance: It is somewhat 60 km away from Bangalore towards Doddaballapur.

Best time to visit- You can visit any time of the year but it is best if you visit after the monsoon.
