Things to Know on Kheerganga Trek

Kheerganga trek is a three-day hike in the lower Himalayas of Himachal Pradesh, India. The trekking trail leads to the Kheerganga hot springs, which are claimed to have curative properties. 

The trail is challenging and can get slippery, so be prepared for that. Commercialised camping is not allowed in Kheerganga and has been stopped in recent years by the government. Therefore it is advisable to opt for homestays, tent stays, and traditional huts. Accommodation may cost around INR 200 to 500 per person for a day.

  • There are no ATMs beyond Kasol and so it is better to carry cash to pay for meals and accommodation.
  • The Local tent and homestays do not have washroom facilities. Also, those with proper sanitation services are shareable. There is no private room with a separate bathroom.
  • You should avoid carrying too many things in your backpack. You may find difficulty in climbing.
  • No electricity is available in Kheerganga, so it is a must to carry your electronic items well charged. Carry a power bank to avoid any problem.
  • Mobile connectivity works fine everywhere during Kheerganga trek except dense regions of the forest.
